Metamucil Sculpture Workshop

Digestive health often gets spoken about exclusively in regards to individual labor productivity and social/physical fitness by brands like Metamucil, a common dietary supplement. In this workshop, I bring the “efficiency supplement” out of its context and under consideration as a medium which can be molded in a shared dialogical space. In this image visitors to a gallery opening are invited to sculpt the Metamucil and water mixture. With minimal prompts from me, the resulting forms are bodily, evoking orifices and limbs. Critical, feminist literature about the digestive system accompanies the work table.
